LEFT WING AILERON BRACKETS/FLAP BRACE

-DRILLED OUTBOARD AILERON BRACKET TO SPAR/OB RIB
-TOUCHED UP TRIMMED INBOARD AILERON BRACKET WITH PRIMER
-I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE LWR RIVET ON BOTH THE BRACKETS IS A 426 (COUNTERSUNK) TYPE AND THE PLANS DON’T SEEM TO SHOW WHAT SIDE THE COUNTERSINK GOES ON, I’D IMAGINE IT ON THE AILERON SIDE FOR CLEARANCE BUT I’M GOING TO DO A BIT OF RESEARCH TO MAKE SURE I DON’T SCREW IT UP.
-AFTER A BIT OF RESEARCH FOUND THAT THE COUNTERSUNK RIVET IS INDEED ON THE AILERON SIDE TO GIVE CLEARANCE.
-REMOVED THE BRACKETS FROM THE SPAR AND COUNTERSUNK (THE CLEARANCE OF THE RIVET GOING THROUGH THE BRACKET MEANT THAT I HAD TO REMOVE THE COUNTERSINKING BIT FROM THE MICROSTOP AND COUNTERSINK IT BY HAND WITH THE DEBURRING HANDLE)


-ALODINED AND TOUCHED UP PRIMER ON BRACKETS
-WHILE WAITING FOR PRIMER ON BRACKETS TO DRY TRIED TO TRIAL FIT THE FLAP BRACE TO THE SPAR BUT FOUND IT REQUIRED TRIMMING.
–AFTER READING THROUGH PLANS FOUND A NOTE ON THE FLAP DRAWING (14A)
-TRIMMED & EDGE DEBURRED FLAP BRACE
-FITTED AND MATCH REAMED FLAP BRACE


-HOLE DEBURRED FLAP BRACE & TOUCHED UP TRIM AREA WITH ALODINE/PRIMER
-RIVETED AILERON BRACKETS IN POSITION ALONG WITH THE SB DOUBLERS
