Left Wing – Aileron Fitting/Tank sender work

-Removed threaded rod ends from unsatisfactory W-818 pushrod assemblies & ordered some more 4130 tube to redo the rods.

-Set the W-716 Aileron pushrod length & tightened jam nut

-Bought the required 38mm (1.5″) holesaw, cut out fuel tank sender hole in the access panel tidied up & countersunk nutplate holes

-Cut and bent sender arm lengths

-Can’t progress the tank any more till I have a 7/64″ drill to open up the rivet holes to suit a MK-319BS pop rivet and tank sealant to reseal

-Had to remove the bellcrank mount brackets to be able to fit the bolt into the bellcrank, so removed those, drilled the brass bushing to final size, lubricated, installed into bellcrank, installed the assembly to the spar & torqued

-Fitted W-716 aileron pushrod to the bellcrank per the plans & torqued, unable to do the 818 pushrod & adjustments till I sort that out

-Fitted Aileron to wing per the plans & torqued

-Cleaned up the aileron & applied ACF50
